DePuy Settles Deceptive Marketing Claim

It is being reported by the Oregonian newspaper that the Oregon Department of Justice has reached a $4,000,000 settlement with DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. regarding allegations of deceptive marketing practices.  The allegations stemmed from the marketing of the ASR XL hip implant device that is comprised of a metal on metal surface.  The device was recalled in 2010 after many complaints of health related problems made to DePuy well before the device was recalled.  Apparently, the United States Department of Justice is also investigating the marketing practices of DePuy.

More information about concerns over DePuy hip implant devices and whether you may be able to assert a legal claim for medical bills, etc. related to these devices can be found here.
