Tobacco Companies Are to Run Ads That Admit Lies

It is being reported that as a part of the 15 year-old litigation with the federal government, three of the largest U.S. tobacco companies are to run ads admitting to lying and deceiving the public about the dangers of smoking. Rather amazing to think that this may actually happen. The ads will include language stating that a federal judge has determined that the companies “deliberately deceived the American public” and go on to tell the truth about the dangers of smoking that were known to the cigarette producers.
